Mary J Blige, MF Doom and the Fake Grammy Winners
Welp, like clockwork the great digital migration from Elon’s internet to anywhere else has started for the second time and in response I have joined Bluesky (please follow me over there!). I don’t know how much energy I have to put into new social media but having the Bluesky account is soothing the part of me that is still mourning Twitter’s death.
No shows this week because I’m out of town. Out of the country actually. I am in Katorwice now but by the time you read this I’ll be in London.
FAKE GRAMMY WINNERS
The winners are in and on average we had about 75 votes per category.
Best New Artist: Doechii
- This was not shocking at all.
Best Rap Song: Not Like Us
- Another no brainer. He won by a landslide.
Best Rap Album: The Auditorium Vol 1
- Not gonna lie I thought Doechii was gonna get this one and she almost did.
Album of the Year: Cowboy Carter
- I expected this to go this way in here but I think Charli XCX gonna take the award home on the big night.

NEWS
I am kind of out of touch with the news cycle because I’m in Europe at the moment and when things are firing up over there I am winding down over here. I also haven’t really had much TV time and I haven’t really been online either. I’m trying to use this time away to unplug while I can because when I get back I’ll have to be fully tapped in.
I do know that Mike Tyson lost his fight with Jake Paul and Tyler the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw was this past weekend.

Tyler also dropped this behind the scenes look at the making of Chromakopia. It’s full of blink and you’ll miss it cameos from ppl who were involved in the album.

Here’s footage of ASAP Ferg and Kendrick Lamar hanging out in Harlem a few months ago. I haven’t watched it but I figure that Kenny is reclusive enough to make watching this spraling 47 minute video interesting.
Lastly J. Cole has launched a limited series podcast centered around some found audio and footage on one of his old laptops. Looks like it’ll be pretty cool if you are into other types of media. You can watch it all here for $10 and pay more if you want.
ALBUM
Mary dropped a new one and it’s pretty good. Kaytranada hooked her up and Rodney Jerkins hit her with a couple of bangers.
I haven’t had a chance to check this album out but it looks like it will do a good job of scratching a specific itch and contextualizing a few new artists.
I’ve heard a few songs from this Cordae album and if they are any indication of what to expect it’s gonna be pretty good.
Cavalier has dropped his second (maybe third) album of the year.

I heard the song Boy from this album playing in the hotel and was like ‘what the hell is this?!’ and after asking the internet for help tracking it down I found the whole album. The artist is Boyboy, the album is Boyboy and the song was Boy. This guy made it as hard as possible to find his stuff but man I’m glad I did.
I wonder where he is now…
