Schoolboy Q, Tanya Morgan, Blu and Cavalier on AOR

Last week was pretty dope. The weather was great and I hung out all weekend. I went to the Fool’s Circle Block Party and the Fat Beats 30 Year Anniversary. I left both events early as well. The Fat Beats show felt like a mini reunion and a bunch of dope artists popped out including Brother J from the X-Clan and I lost my entire mind when he did ‘Grand Verbalizer, What Time Is It?’.

I also made a typo in the Uber app and it took me so far out of the way that doubling back to the right location doubled the price. Good thing it was on the bus line.

Okay enough rambles.

9/25 - I’m back on East Village Radio from 10a - 12p for another helping of Too Much Rap.

9/28 - I’ll be at Dallas Penn’s First Annual Family Day. I’ll probably do a song on Rob Cave’s set but other than that I’ll just be chilling. If you’re in the city RSVP and come through.

NEWS

Over the last week Diddy got arrested and denied bail. Rap media is still finding ways to talk about Drake vs Kendrick. Future dropped an album. Playboi Carti did too but for this album he sounds exactly like future.

Tanya Morgan dropped a double A side which is a 7-inch record with two lead singles on it. The vinyl features Move It or Lose It b/w Don’t Look Up and you can get it right now over at Independent Grand.

Okay I think that just about covers it.

ALMANAC OF RAP

I used AOR as an excuse to catch up with Cavalier and it’s a pretty fun episode. It’s always good to talk to my my guy and we covered a lot of ground. If you haven’t heard his album you should fix that right now by clicking this link.

And while we’re on the subject of TDE apparently Alemeda is their latest signee. She’s got a whole album out called FK IT but I’m dropping the video off here so you can get the full vibe.

That Ka album is finally on streaming and he dropped a video for it too.

Ghost and Meth got a pretty crazy new joint out and the video is pretty dope. Has anyone else noticed that Method Man hasn’t been cursimg in his raps for a while now?

Blu has been having a banner year but when he links up with Exile it’s gonna be one of them ones. This album is REALLY good.

MC Lyte’s new album finally dropped and it’s dope. Great features, really dope production and fire song concepts.

I haven’t had a chance to play this but The Alchemist been having a pretty crazy run this year too.

Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed got Melanie Charles is on here covering James Brown. So yeah, i think this is worth your time.

Madlib dropped the instrumentals to his collaboration album with Talib Kweli.
