(Okay full disclosure I lost track of what day it was and woke up like ‘OH SHIT IT’S TUESDAY!’ so here I am racing to get this thing done before I have to go to the airport.)

NEWS

Andre’s short film for New Blue Sun dropped. It’s just him vibing out to his new album. No dialogue. Don’t expect him to answer any burning questions about the album.

Chip Fu is such a dope rapper. I feel like there is an unreleased Tanya Morgan x Chip Fu song that might be produced by Ali Shaheed? Possibly? Maybe I’m mixing up a bunch of unreleased stuff in my mind.

I need to try this Kaytranada album again. I liked it but I didn’t love it and every song I hear from it on it’s own is great so chances are I like the album more now? Will see.

MC Lyte got a new album on the way. This was a pretty cool music video.

ALBUMS

Quelle, Cavalier and Denmark hooked up to drop Death Tape 2 and they only way to hear it is to BUY it.

I have played this project 2-3 times. It’s good. Real good.

I played this about 1.5 times. I like these two together.

I am trying to remove my prejudice against hour long albums. I know this album has a lot of stuff on it that I’ll like but I can’t sit through an hour. Definitely gonna skim it tho.

Carlitta is always a sure shot.

Anderson Paak is EVERYWHERE.

Have not got to listen to this yet but the song with Lucky Daye is dope.

Juicy J put out a ‘jazz’ album and while it’s not as genre bending as Dre’s flute or Lil Jon’s guided meditation album it is still kinda wild. It’s more like him rapping over lo-fi hip hop beats with some occasional actual instruments.

Dunno who this guy is but i found him via Charlie Smarts and he is good. There’s a full album.

Mookie w/ a new single. Pretty sure there is a video for this.

I coulda swore this song already came out but who cares. I like it.

BONUS

It’s the 1 year anniversary of SAFESPACE. This is the first vinyl that I’ve ever pressed on my Working Creative Imprint and it was a helluva journey because I did it while I was on tour with Michelle Buteau.

I had to update last song on the album (Every City In America Is A Sundown Town) for sample issues and when you read this the new version of the song should be available on all streaming services. The new version of the song is also available on Bandcamp so be sure to go over there and download the new one if you have the old one.

And speaking of vinyl the 25 anniversary edition of Brooklynati from Vinyl Me Please has started shipping! I’ve seen a few copies on IG but let me know if you got yours! How do they look? I have not seen them lol.
