There are no shows this week but Shouting at The Screen is back at Nitehawk in Prospect Park on April 25th and tickets are available here. If you can’t make it please tell a friend who you think can! The podcast will be back soon it’s just taking longer this go round because I’ve taken on a production partner who is helping me bring it to you as a video show so we’re just trying to get it right.. This is not the newsletter that I expected to send today. I spent a substantial part of my weekend working on an a pre/post listen thing for Justin Timberlake’s new album and upon completion figured out that the album it should have been about is Man Of The Woods. Why? Well that will be explained when that review releases but I bet a few of you can already guess why.

Until then tho here are the new releases you may have missed. Beyonce dropped but I don’t really think her album needs further amplification because everyone is talking about it. Shout out to Cowboy Carter tho!

First video ain’t got nothing to do with music unless you consider the sound of Eric Adams getting COOKED on NYC radio music to your ears like I do. He sat down to talk his copaganda bullshit and a woman named Olayemi Olurin proceeded to get surgical on him with the facts. The full Breakfast Club interview is up and if you’ve got an hour it’s a fun watch but since I’d rather push her platform here is a video of her playing clips from that interview and providing receipts.

(Not liking Eric Adams is becoming a part of my personality and I am okay with that)

I love when artists release new videos to old songs in their catalogs. I know Cappadonna was doing it for a while and I really wish more artists were invested in their past work in this way but I know that sometimes it’s a question of ownership over interest. Regardless this is dope.

Any time that I see Cincinnati I get excited. Siifu been doin some cool shit for a long time.

IDK back. I was just thinking about how that album he did with Kaytranada flew under the radar. He’s a pretty interesting dude.

ALBUMS

The Kaiyote is coming off of Hiatus on June 28th! (that’s when their album drops)

Roc Marciano back! Kinda shocked that he went straight to streaming with it but I’m not mad at being able to hear it.

Buddy is back with his first project as an independent artist. It’s got some jams on it.

Blu and Shafiq teamed up and brought yet another banger of a project. I really think he’s gonna drop something new every week this year.

Zilla Rocca is ground zero for music I fuck with. Did not know about this group but I’m happy I’ve found them.

Bread & Souls is back with yet another dope EP.

STLNDRMS is so dope. If you are ever in Atlanta make sure to drop by the event series that he does called Controllerise. I hope to play that one day!
